AUTREFOIS CHALLANS SUMMER 2008
Hey ! I belong here ! So I’ve got a soft spot for AUTREFOIS CHALLANS, of course!
On 17th and 24th July, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Challans brings back its past out into the light by travelling back into the early 20th century.
Four Thursdays in the summer (2 in July and 2 in August), the city centre of the capital of the North-West Vendee gets alive with dressed up local people who act and perform traditional music and dances, as well as everyday scenes to show what life in the marshes used to be like. Don’t miss the poultry market in the morning, or the 1910 Tour de France!
You can also sit and have lunch: try our local and now famous ham and mogettes (beans) that are served in many places and restaurants .
The day ends with a traditional kermesse and a wedding feast.
A must-see! And the entrance is free, so have fun!
